The following description is for what is included in the purchase of one of our high quality ground level deck packages that are up to 4’ off grade:

Acquiring of all proper permits by local construction code authority and homeowner associations if applicable.

The placement of 8 mill. plastic and pea gravel. (to help prevent vegetation growth and shed rain water under deck).

Construction of new deck using pressure-treated materials in accordance with current state of Michigan residential construction code.

Footings of deck Will be constructed of 4”x6” post that are sealed and backfilled with pea gravel (this helps in the preservation of footing posts) sitting on 4” concrete foundation 12” in diameter with a minimum of 42” below grade.

Carriage beams will be constructed of 2-2”x 8” treated boards fastened together with 3” galvanized ring shank nails that are notched into and seated on 4”x 6” post. Anchored with 1/2”x 7” carriage bolts that are ran through carriage beam and 4x6” post. Posts shall be 5-foot on center.

Floor will be constructed of 2”x 6” Joist 12” on center.

Decking will be 2 x 6 fastened to floor joist , with 3 inch weather resistant decking screws

Installation of 36” tall handrail

Handrail shall be constructed of 2”x6” cap attached to 4”x4” posts anchored to frame of deck with 2”x2” spindles, 5” on center, leaving no more than 3-1/2”spacing-between spindles.

Secured at top and bottom on both sides of spindles with 1”x4” treated boards and fastened with 15 gauge galvanized brads.

Installation of pressure-treated 1”x6” skirting around lower section of deck, This includes an access door. Note:(access door on decks less than 2‘ off grade cannot be installed due to low clearance)

Construction of stairs leading to concrete pad. This includes a handrail with graspable banister. (Placement of stairs is optional for customer. )

concrete pad at foot of steps with broom finish for support of steps

3 coats of semi transparent cedar tone stain over entire wood, surface of deck.

Installation of solar powered security lights.
-
Removal of all construction debris and extra building materials.
